Find a Kendo Club in Ireland
There are several Kendo clubs in Ireland, all affiliated with Kendo na hÉireann, the Irish Kendo Federation.
Every dojo has its own location, training schedule and character.
If you're starting Kendo, the best club is usually not the theoretically perfect one.
It's the one you'll actually go to.
Dublin Kendo Kobukai
The largest Kendo club in Ireland, with several training locations across Dublin.
The club runs regular practice for established members as well as structured beginner courses several times a year.
Muyukan Kendo
Based in Portobello, Dublin 8, Muyukan has a tradition rooted in the teachings of Yoshimoto Naoto Sensei from Hiroshima.
Cork Budokai
Home of Kendo in Cork for more than 20 years.
Cork Budokai welcomes beginners and provides a place to practise Kendo for anyone based in Cork and the wider Munster area.
Galway Kendo Club
Based in Galway, the club welcomes new members throughout the year.
A useful option if you'd rather begin by joining regular practice than wait for a structured beginner course.

Cork Budokai is the Home of Kendo in Cork for more than 20 years. They organize a beginner course starting Wednesday, September 16th, 2026.
A fantastic option for anyone based in Munster — and one of the most welcoming clubs in Ireland.
When: Every Wednesday · 8pm to 10pm

Dublin Kendo Kobukai, with support from the Irish Kendo Federation, invites all kendoka and iaidoka to the Irish Kendo & Iaido Autumn Seminar 2026, with several outstanding instructors from Belgium.
Open to practitioners in bogu of all levels. A rare opportunity to train with international kendoka on Irish soil. Details and registration through Dublin Kendo Kobukai.
